My Role
Most of my work as a production assistant at NPR Music involved working with member stations on Slingshot, a collaborative effort to showcase emerging artists. I scheduled and oversaw publication of new content, helped organize and produce collaborations with member stations and created editorial guidelines for member stations to use when producing Slingshot content. I also wrote about new songs and music videos for the series.
I helped produce Weekend Edition pieces about Slingshot artists, like this one on Big Thief's song, "Shark Smile," and this one on Lo Moon's song, "Loveless."
In preparation for the announcement of the 2018 Slingshot artists, I worked with producers, member station music directors and NPR's visuals team to create a project plan for the upcoming year, produced a visually-appealing announcement page, wrote editorial guidelines and created a media kit for stations.
