I'm an education reporter at Alaska Public Media based in Anchorage, Alaska. I also produce AKPM's nightly statewide show, Alaska News Nightly. I’ve reported on efforts to increase diversity at the Anchorage School District’s charter schools, the ongoing bus driver shortage and concern among teachers about COVID safety policies.
My story about an Alaska Native language spelling bee was featured on NPR’s All Things Considered and Weekend Edition.
I graduated from Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism in May 2021. My master's project was an audio piece on efforts to increase diversity at New York's specialized high schools, and I received the Fred M. Hechinger Education Journalism Award.
